Gangotri Yatra

The Gangotri Temple is located on the right banks of the Bhagirathi river. This temple is devoted to the divinity Ganga. This temple is located at a elevation of 3140 meters. The original temple was developed by the Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa in the early 18th century and later rebuilt by the Maharaja of Jaipur. The temple has a beautiful 20 feet high construction made up of white granite. Every year people from all across the world visit this holly place between the month of May and October. A huge number of ashrams and dharamshalas are positioned on the other side. It believed that the rock or Bhagirath Shila on which the Raja Bhagirath used to worship Shiva is positioned near the temple. The waterfall named Gaurikund Waterfall is one of the most beautiful things to explore in the Gangotri.

Shivling:-
Shivling is a mountain located in holly place Gangotri. The mountain exactly resembled with original shivling. The perfect view can be taken at the time of sunset.

Gaumukh:-
A place from where the holly river Ganga originate. The tramp to the Gangotri glacier starts from Chaukhamba group of snow peaks near Badrinath and extends to Gaumukh, the origin of the Ganga. The Gangotri glacier is located at a height of 4255 meters and 18 kms away. a number of pilgrims trek up to the origin to offer the prayers and take a holy bath in the ice-cold water. Kashi Viswanath Temple:-
Kashi Vishwanath Temple is one of the most well-known temples devoted to Lord Shankar. This temple is count as one of the famous pilgrim charms in the Uttarkashi. Temple of former era, Kashi Vishwanath is said to be developed by Parasuram. It was later on renovated by the spouse of Maharaj Sudarshan Shah in 1857. There is a 60 cms big Shivling in the temple. This holy place of pilgrimage is a must visit place during the trip of Gangotri.

Pandav Gufa:-
Pandava Shila is an antique and ancient tourist attraction that can be reached after a 1.5 kilometers of a tramp from the Gangotri. The attractive site of Pandav Shila is said to be the place where the Pandavas, on their way to Himalaya Yatra, did the Tapsya(meditation).
